Office of Anachronism Control

Evidence Register

The register records what the Bureau holds. Administrative age is calculated from the date an item entered Bureau custody, which the Bureau treats as continuous. Where that calculation returns a negative figure, the figure is retained and the item is not reclassified.

Custody and loss

Government custody is defined across every date at which the item exists. An item recovered from an archaeological context therefore did not leave Bureau custody during the intervening period, and no loss is recorded.

Members of the public who believe they possess an item in this condition should file HAEB Form 17-B and retain the item where found. Do not mail the object.
